CREATING A BALANCE WITH CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
What makes STETHS such a dynamic institution is the plethora of extra-curricular activities made available to students as well as the wider community. The many benefits derived from our involvement in extra-curricular activities have left a lasting impression on our students. For the past year, the Science club has undertaken a tree planting project. We are aware of the potency of the Performing and Visual Arts and as such, our students participate in, as well as, medal in the JCDC competitions yearly. Similarly, our Debate Club, Auto & Road Safety Club, Cadet Corp, Healthy Lifestyle, Spanish and Environmental clubs have been active in and outside of the school community. The Heritage club is employed as a tool in augmenting cultural and nationalistic awareness in a diverse group of students. Our Key club keeps the healthy school-community synergy alive as they make it a priority to read to, as well as, issue books to children in the wider community. The Leo and Key, Red Cross clubs also interface with the outer environs by implementing many clean-up projects in the Santa Cruz area. The 4H club has made notable strides by winning speech and display competitions. Exercise is integral in maintaining healthy bodies and minds and our dance, sports and tae-kwon-do societies keep students active. The St Elizabeth Technical High school has been a force to be reckoned with because not only does it cater to the academics but it nurtures a myriad of other intelligences.
