Haile Selassie, St Catherine to meet in rescheduled fixture
THE rescheduled Group K fixture between Haile Selassie and St Catherine High will be the lone action in the second round of the Inter-secondary Schools Sports’ Association /FLOW Manning Cup competition at Constant Spring Field today.
The game is scheduled for 3:00 pm. The contest was postponed last week Tuesday due to an unsuitable playing surface which would have scuppered any chance of the second game between Wolmer’s Boys’ and St George’s College being played.
Both St Catherine and Haile Selassie are currently without a point and will be aiming to secure victory in order to keep their chances of a semi-final berth alive.Wolmer’s lead the group with six points, ahead of St George’s College on three.
It will be an interesting contest between two fairly handy teams that will be renewing their rivalry for a third time this season, having met twice in the first round in Group D where Haile Selassie came out group winners.
Both teams possess some amount of quality and will be seeking to bounce back from their previous 1-2 and 0-3 defeats to St George’s College and Wolmer’s, respectively.
With the tie evenly balanced following 1-0 results going either way in those first-round meetings, the points could go either way if not being shared.
