Humble Lions FC take a bite out of Tastee with $350,000 sponsorship

Tastee Limited took another step towards uplifting the development of sports within this countryas pen was put to paper and a total of $350,000 was donated to the Humble Lion Football Club.

The presentation was made during half time at the National Premier League showdown between the hosts Humble Lion Football Club and Maverley-Hughenden FC on Sunday. The match was played at the Effortville Community Centre in May Pen, Clarendon.

The Red Stripe Premier League has served as a beacon of inspiration and development for over 40 years as Jamaica’s top tier professional football club competition.

Anthony Pringle, technical director of the Humble Lion Football Club, was elated as he expressed his gratitude for the sponsorship and noted that it would go a far way in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

“This sponsorship can go a far way in terms of the whole operation of the club; we really appreciate it because in these testing times to get a contribution like this is really difficult. We have several bills to take care of on a daily basis and this has really assisted with that,” Pringle said.

“It also serves as a catalyst towards our title charge; we are faced by many obstacles on a daily basis ,such as a player being injured,m and that instantly brings forth an expense. At that point medication and treatment is instantly needed and these are challenges we are faced with on a regular basis. This donation has come at the right time when we are in need of it and it will go a far way,” he added.

Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Tastee Ltd Tara Goulbourne noted that the company was very happy to be associated with the Humble Lion Football Club. She said, “Sports development plays a great part in our corporate social responsibility programmes. As Tastee Ltd continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary, we thought it fitting to sponsor the Humble Lion Football Club, a team that has seen vast growth and development since making their premier league debut in the 2009/2010 season of the National Premier League. We look forward to building a solid relationship for years to come.”
