New equipment at AG’s office will boost efficiency — Chuck
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Justice Minister Delroy Chuck said the technologically advanced equipment donated to the Attorney General’s Chambers will significantly boost the efficiency of the Government’s various legal activities.
The minister, while speaking at a handing-over ceremony held at the Attorney General’s Chambers on Oxford Road in St Andrew on Tuesday, also declared that the overall modernisation of the justice sector, coupled with meaningful reform, will be a “game changer” in creating a better Jamaica.
Several state-of- the-art equipment including laptops, desktop computers, a server and multimedia projector, was presented to the Ministry of Justice by the Canadian Government through its Global Affairs Canada initiative.
In accepting the donation, the minister highlighted that the technology would facilitate interconnectivity of information across various legal departments in the public sector.
Messengers, he said, would no longer be required to travel throughout the country to deliver various documents as now there would be “real time exposure of documents” to enhance efficiency.
