Fifty-six students graduated from beauty culture school D’Marie Institute on October 29, certified to take up jobs in the hair and make-up industry. The majority of them pursued the level-2 certificate course in skin care and make-up artistry, while others did the level-3 diploma in hair and media make-up, as well as the level-3 diploma in teaching and training. The ceremony was held at Mona Visitors’ Lodge at The University of the West Indies. The D’Marie Institute, widely regarded as the leading school in make-up artistry in Jamaica, is owned by internationally acclaimed beauty expert Dawn Lindo. Among the list of awards the school has won are the City and Guilds Medal of Excellence Award 2014, the MUA Essential Award for Best Make-up School, and Best in Make-up Artistry in 2014.
