Jendah’s Morning Star shines bright
KWEEN Of The Morning Star, singjay Jesse Jendah’s ‘Rasta love song’, has given the fiery artiste a hit on the United States East Coast.
For the second-straight week, it tops the Foundation Radio Network’s Top 30. That weekly chart is, arguably, the most influential reggae table in the US. The single is a change in course for Jendah.
Most of his songs address issues such as legalisation of ganja and black empowerment. Kween Of The Morning Star is only the beginning, Jendah told the Jamaica Observer.
“Ras Tafari say I must keep the furnace burning with upliftment songs for the Hempress and Kweens. Next year will see the next single Hempress Of The Nile to keep that furnace burning,” he said.
Released in June, Kween Of The Morning Star is produced by Infinity Records out of California and distributed by VPAL, a subsidiary of VP Records.
It is Jendah’s biggest hit since Rudeboy Remember in 1992. Hempress Of The Nile is produced by Ras Vision. A former member of producer Philip “Fattis” Burrell’s Xterminator camp, Jesse Jendah is managed by Mightyful13 Records.
