NWA collects new data for proposed MoBay bypass
St JAMES, Jamaica — Following the recent theft of survey information for the proposed Montego Bay bypass, the National Works Agency (NWA) says survey teams yesterday began interviewing motorists in and around Montego Bay to collect new data.
The data, which was previously collected in early November, was among items in a motor vehicle which was stolen from the home of a member of the survey team in Portmore.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the survey, which will end on Thursday, involves traffic counts and interviews with motorists to determine their travel patterns. This data will inform the decision-making process for the much-anticipated Montego Bay bypass.
Ricketts says that the areas which are being targeted include the intersection of the Bogue Road and Alice Eldemire Drive; Fairfield Avenue and Barnett Street; the North Coast Highway at the intersection of Morgan Road; Salt Spring and the Green Pond and Porto Bello roadways.
The surveys are being executed by the National Road Operating and Construction Company, Stanley Consultants Incorporated and the NWA with the support of police personnel.
