CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh (CMC) — Trinidadian all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Rayad Emrit both failed to have an impact, but their respective sides tasted contrasting results in the Bangladesh Premier League here yesterday.

In the first game of the doubleheader at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Bravo made just three and took one for 25, but his Dhaka Dynamites overcame his lack of production to beat Chittagong Vikings by 19 runs.

And in the second game, Emrit also picked up one for 25 and made just nine as his Barisal Bulls slumped to a 12-run defeat to Rangpur Rivals.

Dynamites top the table with eight points from five outings, while Bulls are third on six points, with the second-placed Riders and fourth-placed Khulna Titans also on same number of points.

Sent in, Dynamites rallied to 148 for nine off their 20 overs with Mosaddek Hossain top-scoring with 35 off 29 deliveries.

Bravo faced four deliveries before he was run out in the 13th over at 100 for five, sent back by Mosaddek after chancing a suicidal second run.

Off-spinner Mohammed Nabi (3-18) and English left-arm speedster Tymal Mills (3-25) finished with three wickets apiece.

In reply, Vikings slumped to 129 for eight, with opener Tamim Iqbal getting the top score of 26 off 35 balls before he was removed by Bravo in the 13th over at 66 for three, caught at point by Mosaddek.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shahid grabbed three for 23.

In the next game, Riders rallied to 175 for six off their 20 overs with Mohammad Mithun hitting 62 off 44 deliveries and England one-day batsman Liam Dawson getting 46 from 36 balls.

Dawson was Emrit’s only wicket caught at mid-off in the penultimate over with the charge on.

Sri Lankan opener Jeevan Mendis then stroked 57 from 53 balls and Nadif Chowdhury, 41 from 25 deliveries, but Bulls were dismissed for 163 with two balls left in the innings.

Emrit was sixth out in the 19th over with the score on 155, bowled missing a swing at a full-length delivery from Rubel Hossain.
