Scorpions dismissed for 151 against Volcanoes
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Shane Shillingford took five wickets to help Windward Islands Volcanoes dismiss Jamaica Scorpions for 151 on Saturday in the Digicel Regional four-day match, even as a wet outfield allowed only 25 overs and three balls to be bowled on the second day.
The off-spinner Shillingford ended with 5-32 off 15 overs.
Batsman Devon Thomas led the Scorpions with 51.
The Volcanoes, who are one without loss, are scheduled to resume their reply Sunday with both openers, Tyrone Theophile and left-hander Devon Smith, yet to get off the mark.
Play is set to commence at 9:30 am — 30 minutes earlier than the normal start time — to make up for time lost.
On Friday’s first day, only 36 overs were possible because of the wet field as Jamaica Scorpions limped to 83-6.
Scores: Scorpions 151 (60.3 overs); Volcanoes 1-0 (1 over)
