Scorpions lead Volcanoes by 38 runs going into final day
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Hosts Jamaica Scorpions have a lead of 38 runs with eight wickets in hand going into Monday’s final day of the Digicel Regional four-day match versus Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sabina Park.
Play is scheduled to start 9:30 am.
The Scorpions closed Sunday on 92-2 in their second innings with left-hand opener John Campbell is unbeaten on 43. West Indies middle-order batsman Jermaine Blackwood is with him on 16.
Earlier, the Volcanoes, who began the day on one without loss, were bowled out for 205 on the stroke of tea. Wicketkeeper batsman Sunil Ambris and all-rounder Kyle Mayers made identical scores of 61.
Debutante pacer Oshane Thomas, who took a wicket with the first ball he delivered in first-class cricket, ended with 2-26 for the Scorpions.
The Volcanoes had restricted Scorpions to 151 just before close of play on Saturday.
