A lesson we must learn
Dear Editor,
I forward this comment below just as a reminder that we should be obedient to a timeless warning that we “should not cut off our nose to spite our face”.
I note the Jamaica Observer editorial of Sunday last, titled ‘China, a ripe tourism market’, expressing the concern that our Caribbean countries should seek urgently to exploit the opportunities offered by the growing lucrative China tourist travel market.
How completely appropriate and assuring it would have been if Jamaica had, at this time, the glove-fitting expertise and skill of Fay Pickersgill as our ambassador to China to anchor and push her country’s initiatives in that regard?
