Let’s see what the councillors can do
Dear Editor,
You can get your roast breadfruit, bananas, mangoes, aluminium pots, plants, pears, and even high-bred puppies here.

No, I am not talking about at the market, but at the top of Valentine Drive and Red Hills Road in the vicinity of PriceSmart.
In recent times, the citizens of Valentine Gardens have seen an increase in vendor activity in this area and it is certain to go even higher in the upcoming festive season. It will be so if something is not done immediately to curb this practice by itinerant sellers.
The responsibility for policing vendors rests with the municipal authorities of the parish councils and we have received some assistance from the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation to keep it under control. But it is clear that it is not enough as we have seen this despicable behaviour happen in other areas of Kingston as well.
With local government elections set for November 28, 2016, one has to wait and see what residents think of the representation they have been receiving from these councils and make their votes count.
