K Charlz is making moves
Fusion artiste K Charlz gets personal on his latest song Move On , which reflects on the break-up of a relationship. It is produced by Germany-based Lion Riddims.
“In a nutshell, the song is a typical break-up story where one person doesn’t appreciate the other and that person finally finds the courage to leave,” K Charlz told Splash.
Originally from Dela Vega City in Spanish Town, he attended Miramar High School and later Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He studied music business and theory at the latter, but left college before graduating to pursue music professionally.
In late 2013, he began performing throughout South Florida and caught the attention of a ‘music industry player’ who took him to Jamaica to record with producer Bobby “Bobby Digital” Dixon.
Since then he has worked with producers such as Kris Karz, Jean Andre Lawrence, DJ Blade, and Young Prophet. His songs include
One Step, which features another South Florida act, J Stone.
“I describe my music as a mixture of all music. I like to call it ‘Reggae Fusion’ because I tend to stay true to my Jamaican roots with reggae, while mixing [it] other styles and genres such as rhythm and blues, pop and hip hop,” he said.
