#LocalGovt16: Voting in Mandeville expected to ‘pick-up’ soon
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Presiding officer, Stephanie Reece, who was accompanied by other Election Day workers at a polling station in Mandeville, has reported that besides the first hour and half this morning, there has not been much voting activity in the area.
She told OBSERVER ONLINE that 8:00 am to about 9:30 am was a busy period but there was not much activity afterward.
However, she said that close to the end of polls at 4:00 pm, she expected voting to “pick-up again”.
The Mandeville Police Station had three polling stations for voting today.
Close to 40,000 members of the security forces and Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) election day workers are eligible to cast their ballots today.
