90s Recall in growth mode
Retro party series 90s Recall continues to grow. The most recent edition of the series took place at the Twin Gates Lounge in Twin Gates Plaza, Kingston, on Saturday, November 12.
Dubbed Short Shorts vs Mini Skirts, the event’s second staging attracted a number of entertainment personalities as well as fellow event promoters. Dancehall deejay Konshens was seen in the crowd.
“The last event we had over 600 patrons. It was a nice mixture of young professionals and 90s babies at heart. We continue to see a level of growth,” co-promoter Ryan ‘Rage’ Riley told the Jamaica Observer.
Riley, along with Fabian O’Hara, Sheldon Taylor and Robert Sculley are promoters of 90s Recall.
The evening saw ZJ Ice, Zimi Sound, Xync Fence Sound and Shockwave Entertainment providing the musical thrills.
“We have a focus on 90s and early-2000s music. We have survived the glut of retro parties by being innovative, utilising modern marketing strategies, and the diversity of the promoters,” Riley explained.
90s Recall is to be held every quarter. Its next staging is set for March 2017.
