Pride 45-1 at lunch in reply to Scorpions’ 224

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 57-run last wicket stand between Derval Green and Captain Nikita Miller lifted Jamaica Scorpions to 224 all out against Barbados Pride on day three of the Digicel Regional four-day cricket match at Sabina Park.

Green made a brisk 40, while Miller was rock solid with an unbeaten 24.

Left-hand opener John Campbell hit a top score of 60 on Saturday.

West Indies pacer Kemar Roach led the Pride with 3-27.

The visitors are 45-1 at lunch in reply. Left-hander Anthony Alleyne, who struck a century in the previous round, is not out on 15, while Shamarh Brooks is on 11. Alleyne’s left-handed opening partner Omar Phillips was dismissed by medium pacer Derval Green for four.

Score: Scorpions 224 (86.2 overs); Pride 45-1 (10 overs)

On Friday’s opening day no play was possible after rain left the outfield soggy.

Teams:

Scorpions — Nikita Miller (capt), John Campbell, Shacaya Thomas, Jermaine Blackwood, Devon Thomas, Andre McCarthy, Chadwick Walton, Damion Jacobs, Derval Green, Fabian Allen, Reynard Leveridge.

Pride — Kevin Stoute (capt), Anthony Alleyne, Omar Phillips, Shamarh Brooks, Roston Chase, Mario Rampersaud, Nikolai Charles, Justin Greaves, Kenroy Williams, Jomel Warrican, Kemar Roach.
