ISSA/Tru-Juice Rural Area U14, U-16 quarters today
MUNRO, St Elizabeth — Munro College will be seeking to qualify for both sections of the ISSA/Tru-Juice Rural Area Under-14 and Under-16 semi-finals for the second year running when they complete their quarter-final fixtures with a double-header at Munro today.
Both Munro College teams, including the defending champions Under-16 team, are on four points and need only a point from their game to advance to the semi-finals set for next Monday.
The top two teams on points from each of the two zones in both competitions will advance to the semi-finals, with the finals set for Thursday, December 8.
In the Under-14 competition, Knox College and Cornwall College are tied at the top of Zone One on four points each from two games played and are followed by Vere Technical and York Castle on one point each, both from one game.
Munro College lead Zone Two on four points from two games, followed by Bog Walk on three points from one game, Seaforth have one point from one game, while Rusea’s High have lost both games played.
In the Under-16 competition, Green Pond and Glenmuir High are tied on four points from two games each in Zone One, one more than Clarendon College, also from two games with Manchester High losing both games played so far.
Munro College lead Zone Two with four points, while Morant Bay and Brown’s Town are tied on three each, and Anchovy High on one point.
Today, Munro College could wrap up their semi-final spots as they meet second-placed Bog Walk High in the first game of a double header starting at 1:40 pm followed by the Under-16 game against Morant Bay High.
Also today in the Under-14 competition, Knox College host Vere Technical, Cornwall College face York Castle, and Rusea’s host Seaforth High.
In the Under-16 competition, Green Pond take on Clarendon College, Manchester High meet Glenmuir, while Anchovy host Brown’s Town.
