Samfi-stands-up-for higglers
Newcomer Samfi takes a humorous look at a serious issue on her first song, Metro A Come, which was recently released.
“This song is for all the hard-working higglers and market vendors who are trying to make an honest living to take care of their families. I know it’s a constant struggle, it’s not easy for them, and sometimes they face a lot of unnecessary harassment from the security forces,” she said.
Samfi also produced the song’s video which was filmed at Porus Market in Manchester, her hometown.
Born Sophia Mullings, Samfi wants to make a major mark in the music business.
“I know it won’t be easy, but I am determined to become the next big female star in Jamaica. I have the talent, the looks and the drive to make it and I’m putting in the work,” she said.
