STETHS educators make history

Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth — Principal Keith Wellington and Spanish teacher Kerene Nelson of St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) made history recently when they claimed both the principal and teacher of the year awards.

Lasco Jamaica Limited, in association with the Ministry of Education, presents the awards annually.

The two champion educators received trophies and a cash award of $250,000 each. They will also attend the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) Professional Development 2017 conference in Anaheim, California.

Another St Elizabeth educator, Prim Lewis of Aberdeen High, formerly of Schoolfield Primary, placed second in the principal category.
