End the extortion
Dear Editor,
Extortion has been a very important issue which needs a lot of attention.
An awful lot of business people are silently suffering from this dangerous practice. People must learn to use creative mechanism to alter their fate or they won’t be able to be solvent for very long, because these young men who are involved are very greedy. It is all about how people have been socialised to be parasites on the existing system.
Some of these extortionists consider the practice as a normal way of life instead of getting a nine-to-five job and live a decent life. This is criminality operating at its very best. These youngsters feel that people working should take care of them by feeding them and their families. When they are caught, the depraved people in the inner city speak of ‘we want justice’ and that the police harass the good, upstanding members of their community. Sometimes it is not quite so, but the police use no search warrants to catch these criminals, and that is wrong.
The love for money is the single most critical issue which has altered the minds of the misguided youth. Many of the people in the inner city know the people who are perpetuating the unwelcome offensive practice and act as if they are oblivious.
This drives us back to the ‘informa fi dead’ mentality which deprives the country of many business entities.
I honestly cannot see why the Government has not done anything substantial to reduce this unfortunate situation. The inaction has maintained this way of life as it has survived succeeding governments.
In this Christmas season, we need more police officers on the streets to counter the horrendous undertakings.
