MoBay EDM fest tonight
ELECTRIC Butterfly Music Festival (EBMF) is set to unfold tonight at Pier One in Montego Bay, St James.
EBMF, now in its fourth year, has become a marquee event on Montego Bay’s entertainment calendar. With its two stages, one catering to dancehall and hip hop and the other to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and soca, patrons are in for a treat.
Headliners are Dutch DJ Willem ‘Headhunterz’ Rebergen and Swiss DJ Maurizio ‘EDX’ Colella.
Artistes slated to perform include Popcaan and Trinidad soca star Bunji Garlin.
“Over the past three years we have sought to raise the bar in entertainment with EBMF. We have consistently brought in heavy hitters in EDM from across the globe. We are expecting awesome performances from Headhunterz and EDX. We have upped the ante, bringing in two heavyweights in their respective genres, Popcaan and Bunji Garlin. We have also assembled one of the most formidable line-ups in DJs and we expect that patrons will be thoroughly entertained,” Patrick Hayle of Stardustt Events, producers of the festival, told the Jamaica Observer.
Headhunterz has performed at popular EDM festivals such as Qlimax, Decibel, Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland. EDX has headlined at some of the most popular EDM clubs in America, Ibiza, Brazil and Australia.
The evening’s musical roster will be complemented by Andre Airplane, Boyaka Smash, DJ Crazy Neil, Jay Vinyls, Tony Matterhorn, ZJ Liquid, DJ Nicco, ZJ Chrome, and DJ Tippy.
“With all the preparation we’ve put in for this year’s staging, we’re confident our patrons will leave with the best possible experience ever; Brand Jamaica will be on full display come tonight,” said Londie Murray, EBMF marketing and public relations director.
