Is Montague held accountable?
Dear Editor,
I read with interest a story that was published online in the Jamaica Observer and which appeared on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
The story quoted Robert “Bobby” Montague, the national security minister, as saying: “Whoever is the next commissioner, and whoever is the next assistant commissioner, will have to sign a contract with performance standards and timelines.”
I have no problems with Montague’s proposals, but wouldn’t it be nice if he were himself held accountable for performance standards and timelines?
Furthermore, wouldn’t it be wonderful, if he made these appraisal tools public.
