Correction and apology
A report in last Friday’s edition of the Daily Observer on deliberations of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee of Parliament incorrectly reported that Denzil Thorpe, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, agreed with Opposition spokesman on science, technology, energy, and mining Phillip Paulwell that matters related to street lights be removed from the Ministry of Local Government’s control and transferred to the ministry with responsibility for energy.
We regret the error and apologise to Mr Thorpe.
