Jah Fucha hopes to Rise Like the Sun
FAST-RISING singjay Jah Fucha (pronounced Future) knows what it means to grow up in poverty. He, however, feels with determination and drive one can overcome that state.
He puts his message in his latest single Rise Like the Sun. The track was self-produced on his Big Bredda Music label earlier this month.
“The song is about elevation in life, despite your circumstances, about emerging, rising up, showing your talent and be who you were meant to be. It is about my journey, about elevation, about me and anyone else in a similar situation, rising like the sun and becoming their true selves,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
“Mi love the feedback in the streets so far; the future looks bright,” Jah Fucha continued.
The accompanying video for Rise Like the Sun is in its final stage of production.
Born Romaine Dwain Cole in Claremont, Hanover, Jah Fucha was raised by his grandmother. He earns a living as a fisherman in Mosquito Cove, but is intent on chasing his musical aspiration.
Other singles include Embrace Me and One Burner.
“My songs are now playing in Germany and other places in Europe, and the USA. The work is out there,” he said.
