Jilted lover accused of posting picture of ex in wig and blouse on
A woman who was reportedly upset at her ex-boyfriend for leaving her and posted a picture of him on Facebook wearing a wig and a blouse while calling him a ‘b… bwoy,’ has got herself in trouble.
Monique Higgins, 31, of Rose Town in Kingston, is facing charges of unlawfully making device or data available for the commission of an offence and using the computer for malicious communication.
The Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court heard last week that the accused and the 22-year-old were involved in a six-month relationship which ended on a sour note late last year, following which Higgins posted the unflattering picture of the complainant on her
Facebook page.
According to the police report, prior to the couple’s break-up, the accused and the complainant were home one day when Higgins, who was preparing to go on the road, asked him to put her wig on his head for her to comb it through and he complied.
At the point when the request was made, the complainant was just coming out of the bathroom and asked Higgins to pass him a shirt and she reportedly gave him a black blouse to put on, while she detangled the hair.
After the complainant put the blouse on, along with the short black wig, it was reported that Higgins jokingly told him that he looked cute and snapped a photograph of him in the wig and blouse.
But following their break-up, Higgins reportedly posted the photo on her Facebook page on February 11 with the following caption, “B… bowy yuh a gwaan like yuh hype and yuh is not, yuh a walk and kotch kotch a people yard, a yuh…. mi a talk.”
The complainant was later informed about the picture and reported the matter to the police.
According to the police, the complainant was being called a homosexual by persons at his workplace and in his community because of the photograph.
Last Friday when the case was mentioned, Senior Parish Judge Andrea Pettigrew-Collins was told that the file was incomplete and as a result the matter as scheduled for mention on May 29 and Higgins’ bail was extended.
