Vows: Constructed in Love
KW Events and Rental event/wedding planner Kerry-Ann Wedderburn and Structural Solutions Limited construction manager Dominic Aiken tied the knot on December 10, 2016, at Annuals Gazebo, Hope Gardens. Vows takes you to the altar.
HOW THEY MET…The couple met nine years ago at Medusa’s Bar. “I was there with a friend of mine when I saw Dominic and was immediately attracted to him,” shared Kerry- Ann. “We exchanged numbers and, soon after, started dating”. The relationship was placed on pause when Dominic enrolled at the Caribbean Maritime Institute but resumed a year later when they again saw each other at Medusa’s, Dominic’s regular hang-out spot.
THE PROPOSAL… Dominic proposed to Kerry- Ann at his home in May of 2016. “We were there sitting quietly when suddenly Dominic declared his love and then got down on one knee and proposed. I was surprised but of course said ‘yes’,” Kerry-Ann recalled.
THE CEREMONY… The exchange of vows took place at the Annuals Gazebo, Hope Gardens. KW Events and Rentals used shades of black, white and gold to enhance the setting. The bridesmaids made their way up the aisle to the strains of John Legend’s You & I, dressed in long gold sequinned dresses with sweetheart necklines. They were escorted by the dapper groomsmen in dark grey suits and black bow ties. At the altar stood Dominic, in a Spokes Apparel black fitted three-piece suit and a textured skinny tie. As the music of John Legend’s You & I filled the gazebo, the bride, stunning in a Maggie Sottero Primrose gown from Bliss Bridal, proceeded up the aisle towards her bridegroom. In her hands she clutched a bouquet of white calla lilies. She was escorted by her uncle Michael Williams. The proceedings were officiated by Reverend Peter Garth.
THE RECEPTION… The reception took place under an impressive stand alone gazebo where guests enjoyed cocktails ahead of the arrival of the newlyweds and their bridal party. This was followed by the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to Tory Lanez’s LUV. Guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal by Elite Kreations, followed by heartfelt toasts from the best man and maid of honour. The Jodicakes three-tiered plain cake with Blue Mountain coffee buttercream was then cut. Formalities over, guests converged on the dance floor pausing only to partake of the ice cream bar. A honeymon is planned for a later date.
