FINSAC victim presents anthology of poems to Shaw
Former businessman Mecheck Willis last week presented a copy of his anthology of poems, inspired by the devastation he has experienced as a result of the financial meltdown of the 1990s, to Finance and the Public Service Minister Audley Shaw.
The presentation was made at Shaw’s Heroes’ Circle office.Willis, who once operated a thriving haberdashery in Kingston, lost his home and business to the financial crisis.His book, entitled
God is My Guide: Reform of the Mind, is due to be launched shortly.After accepting the anthology, Shaw reaffirmed his commitment to have the Financial Sector Adjustment Company (FINSAC) report into the collapse of the financial sector completed within the coming months.The FINSAC Commission of Enquiry began in 2009 to investigate the fallout of businesses and livelihood of many individuals.
