Fewer than 6000 customers without electricity — JPS
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) this afternoon disclosed that power has been restored to most communities across the island, reducing the number of customers without electricity from more than 24,000 to under 6,000 customers — less than one per cent of the customer base.
The utility company said in a release a short while ago that majority of customers who are still without power, are located in Clarendon, in the communities of Danks, Frankfield, Alston and surrounding areas.“Restoration efforts in Clarendon continue to be hampered by lack of access to the affected areas, as a result of flooding and landslides”, JPS explained, adding that they will continue to do everything to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible.
