Palm Beach fest a hit
Full-A-Vybez Inc, organisers of the The 14th Annual Palm Beach Jerk and Culture Festival, said the event had lived up to its expectations.
“Even though the sun and temperature seemed to have been at a record high, patrons still didn’t mind and came out in full support of the event,” said the company’s publicist Keisha Freeman.According to Freeman, there was a little bit of everything for everyone, as the party pavilion started off early and had the patrons rocking non-stop for hours, while the kids were kept busy at the Kiddies Corner where they had bounce houses and other activities. Playtime was not only for the kids; there was a game area where patrons challenged each other to friendly board games.“The sweet aroma of food filled the park; vendors had jerk everything, even jerk ice-cream. Patrons also got a chance to experience and purchase Caribbean arts and craft,” she said.On the main stage, the show started on time, everything ran smoothly, and the transition between acts was seamless.Wayne Wonder started off his set with retro dancehall, thrilling the audience with non-stop hits. He had the crowd singing and rocking during his entire performance.Half Pint then came and “levelled the vibes” with hits such as Greetings and Political Fiction.Agent Sasco dominated the stage with another stellar, high-energy performance. The members of the audience were more than willing to be his back-up singers.Tarrus Riley thrilled the crowd and even took it a step further along with Dean Fraser and other band members by performing a tribute to the late Frankie Paul in his set. Love of Hip Hop reality TV star Safaree was invited briefly onstage by Riley. He then closed the show and left the audience wanting more.“We have had another successful incident-free event. Right now we are focusing on Orlando Jerk Fest in October. We however promise that we’ll do everything to ensure both Orlando and Palm Beach Festivals continue being family-orientated events,” Freeman added.
