Two students from the Epping Forest Primary school which is nestled in the hills of Malvern, St Elizabeth, were recognised for outstanding performance in the recent GSAT examinations recently.

Claymore Smith and Jordane Jerodine received the highest marks for male and female, respectively. They both received the Assan Thompson Trophy for outstanding academic achievement.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Assan Thompson is a past student of the Epping Forest Primary School.

Thompson in a note to the students said they should continue to dream big and work hard to realise those dreams. He thanked the teachers and parents for preparing the awardees to attain such high marks.

The awardees expressed their gratitude to ACP Thompson for remembering his roots.

Pastor Winston Mullings, who was the guest speaker at the function, charged the students to believe in themselves. He said that if they believed in themselves and displayed self-confidence, they will fulfil their purpose in life.

Principal of the school Mrs Foster Malcolm said the trophies have served as a timely motivation to the students, and others sitting future exams will want to work much harder to achieve that award. She called upon the parents to support the school and the educational efforts of their children.
