Cambridge clip St James High to move top of D-2
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Cambridge United clipped St James High 2-1 at the UDC Field on Wednesday to top Zone One of the St James Football Association Guardian Group Division Two and book a place in the semi-finals.
Cambridge United’s victory saw them move from fourth to first place with 10 points, edging Rosemount on goal-difference with St James High finishing in third place.
St James High needed only a draw to secure their place, but went down 0-2 in the first half and a late goal from national Under-17 player Calwayne Allen was not enough.
Anthony Brown gave Cambridge United the lead after 25 minutes and Obrien Bent added a second in the 40th minute.
Club Ville topped Zone Two with 13 points with Iberostar second on 10 points.
