Hutton folds from CONEC Mobile Wallet
Heston Hutton CEO of JaMobile Payment Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL), has demitted office effective June 30, 2017, according to a news release yesteray.
JaMobile Payment Services operates CONEC Mobile Wallet. Hutton was responsible for conceptualising and successfully delivering Jamaica’s first fully certified Mobile Payment System – CONEC — which started out as JCUES in 2013.
CONEC was the first mobile wallet on the Jamaican market — which allows consumers to perform financial transactions via their mobile phones — but has been fighting for market share with NCB’s Quisk which was launched in September last year.
Hutton was the CEO of CONEC from 2015 and spent a total of eight years with the JCCUL Group and has held several strategic leadership positions during his tenure, the latest of which was his appointment to lead the JaMobile Payment subsidiary of the League, from its inception in June, 2015.
Hutton has spent more than 35 years in the financial services industry, in areas that included commercial and alternate banking, such as cards, mobile, internet and virtual operations.
Hutton is now a business development specialist delivering a suite of innovative solutions, according to his LinkedIn profile, and is currently looking at international and regional opportunities.
