NPTAJ commends Gov’t on pilot transport system for students
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica (NPTAJ) is commending the Government of Jamaica on the recently announced initiative to introduce a Rural Transport System for Students on PATH.
The association, in a press release today said this is a step in the right direction towards what is eventually needed, which is a national school bus transport system.
The NPTAJ said it is looking forward to the further rolling out of this pilot phase to cover all parishes.
The introduction of this programme, it is believed, will impact positively on the 20 per cent absenteeism now being experienced in schools island-wide.
