Sumfest Dancehall night tonight
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dancehall night of Reggae Sumfest kicks off in high gear tonight at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay, St James, with dancehall star, Alkaline — who has been the subject of fiery criticism from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) for a lewd, gun-toting video titled After All, heading the line-up.
The main event festivities also include Nigerian dancehall star Patoranking, whose hit My Woman, My Everything, has earned him a legion of fans in Jamaica.
Other top acts include Mavado, Bounty Killa, Dexta Daps, Devin Di Dakta, Spice, Shenseea, Tommy Lee Sparta, Tory Lanez, Aidonia, Masicka, Patoranking, Tifa, Jahmeil, Ding Dong, Harry Toddler& Ikel Marvelous, TJ, Iyara, K Queens, Singer J and Sanjay Spotlight.
The show kicked off on Sunday, July 16 with a beach party. It then moved into the Sumfest Sunset Yacht Party on July 17. The all-white party at Pier One was on July 18, followed by Sumfest Blitz on Wednesday, July 19. On July 20, Pier One hosted the Sumfest Heavyweight Clash.
Tonight is night one of the culmination of the event, with tomorrow being the final night.
