#CYG: Stone cops Jamaica’s first medal with 100m silver
NASSAU, Bahamas — Kevon Stone won Jamaica’s first medal in track and field at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, Bahamas yesterday when he placed second in the boys 100m.
Stone clocked 10.59 seconds to finish behind Trinidad’s Adell Colhurst (10.55 seconds) with Bahamas’ Adrian Curry third in 10.61 seconds.
Ramone Lindo qualified for today’s final of the 400m after he was second in his heat in 48.25 seconds but Annakay Allen failed to advance after she finished fourth in her 400m heat in 56.21 seconds.
Also yesterday, Aliesha Shaw finished fifth in the girls shot put event with 15.09m while Cobe Graham-50.39m and Christopher Brown-49.84m were seventh and eighth in the respectively in the boys’ discus throw.
