RTI Weekend kicks off July 30
‘PRETTY In Pink’ party, the first event in the Rich Tropical Island (RTI) Weekend, gets underway at Woodstock in Negril on Sunday, July 30.
The all-inclusive event has been a traditional crowd-puller for organisers.
The following day at the same venue is Overproof, which has Ninjaman as headliner. Jahmiel, Singer J, and Fadda Bookie are also confirmed.
Organiser Robert Williams said diehard fans, known as ‘RTI Weekenders’, should expect high-flying deejay Alkaline as guest performer.
The action switches to Long Bay Beach for OVERFLOW Soca Party on August 1.
After a one-year absence, RTI Weekend returned to the party fold last year with strong turnouts for their events.
RTI was started by Williams in 2000 as part of the ATI Weekend, a party series that takes place over the Emancipation Day holiday.
Williams went solo eight years ago and redesigned the event which attracts hundreds of revelers to the tourist town.
He is the owner of Rebel T sound system, which won the Guinness Sounds of Greatness clash in 2009.
Williams has incorporated Jamaica’s sound system culture into RTI Weekend, which has hosted heavyweight sounds like Fire Links and Tony Matterhorn.
