Active claiming box on Emancipation Day
Sixteen horses will line up for new connections when next at the races after being claimed on the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) 10-race Emancipation Day programme at Caymanas Park on Tuesday.
In the first event, Paintthistownred was claimed from Wayne DaCosta on a $250,000 tag by trainer Tyrone Prince for owner Barsher; Sir Leyland Hall was claimed by Owen Dawes for K & M Racing Stables from Andrew McDonald, while Lawrence Freemantle claimed Bullet Raj from Ryan Darby for owner Lloyd Salmon.
In the second event, Clearly Ours was claimed from Dennis Lee by Phillip Elliott for Junior Powell; Errol Waugh claimed Princess Brianna from Paul Hylton for Linton Calder; Quick Chic was claimed from Anthony Subratie by Clifford Atkinson Jr for himself; Speedy Process was claimed from Johnny Wilmot by Winchester McIntosh for himself; and Barrington Rambally claimed Portugal from Ryan Darby for owner Sean Deleon. All horses were claimed for $180,000 tags.
From the fifth event, trainer Gary Crawford took home Memory of TS for owner Byron Brown; Frankenstorm was tagged from Johnny Wilmot by Steven Todd for Diamonds; Raising the Bar was taken from Gregory Forsythe by Anthony Nunes for Stephan Narinesingh; Johnny Wilmot claimed Arizona Gold from O’Neil Markland for Carlton Watson; and Clifford Atkinson Jr claimed Shade of Beauty from Michael McIntosh for himself. All horses were tagged for $350,000.
Hologram Shadow was claimed from Rowan Mathie by Randolph Scott for himself on a $550,000 tag, while Mr Ambassador was claimed from Wayne DaCosta by Michael Beecham for David Reid for $600,000, so too was Mesmerize from Dave Girod claimed by Donovan Plummer for Silence. All were claimed from the seventh event.
