Pre-launch of JDCA
The Jamaican Consulate in the Cayman Islands, under the auspices of Honorary Consul Dr Joseph Marzouca, hosted a reception for the pre-launch of the Jamaica Diaspora Cayman Association (JDCA) at the Luca Restaurant.
The event, which was sponsored by JN Cayman, was welcomed with enthusiasm by the many Jamaicans in attendance. Guest speaker for the evening was chief executive officer for the Jamaica National Group, Earl Jarrett.
Jarrett who is the chairman of the Jamaica diaspora Foundation, provided an overview of the contributions of the Jamaican diaspora and the opportunities that exist between the countries.
The pre-launch was intended to bring interest and awareness to the Jamaica Diaspora Cayman Association. The group will provide a support network for the more than 16,000 Jamaicans and Jamaican-Caymanians who call the three-island chain home, according to Elaine Harris of the Jamaican Consulate.
