Amir ready to make mark
A career in music was inevitable for newcomer Amir. His grandfather Ken Fyffe was a member of the group called the Congos, while his aunt is veteran 1980s dancehall artiste Lady G.
“Music has always been a part of me. It is inborn and what I am doing is basically a continuation of the legacy,” said Amir.
Now under the guidance of Til Shiloh Productions, Amir is ready to spread his wings and make his mark musically. He is currently promoting two new songs, The Topic (produced by Darkas Production) and Right Conclusion, featuring Kaleese. The latter is produced by Delroy Pottinger.
“Good music is what I am bringing to the game. Positive message, a fresh sound and something unique. Music should not only educate and entertain but also inspire. That’s my mission,” Amir explained.
Born in Spanish Town, Amir Fyffe spent his early years in Ocho Rios in St Ann under the tutelage of his father Edgar, a songwriter and musician.
In 2006, at age of 11 and using the moniker Dadda, he performed at the Portmore Awards. He later released songs including Dress Right and Guns. He also collaborated with Zamunda and has performed in the Caribbean.
Amir is working on an EP for release early next year.
