CPL: Tallawahs send St Lucia Stars in to bat
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica Tallawahs have won the toss and decided to bowl against the struggling St Lucia Stars in the 23rd match of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 tournament, the first of their four home games, here at Sabina Park.
It is an important fixture for the Tallawahs, who are third on the table on eight points and victory tonight would see them securing a spot in the play-offs.
The contest is of less significance for the Stars, who are seeking to salvage some pride from this their penultimate game. They are yet to win a game and are rooted at the foot of the six-team table on one point.
Meanwhile, the Tallawahs have made two changes to their line up, bringing in Bangladeshi all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad for opener Trevon Griffiths and spinner Garey Mathurin for medium pacer Odean Smith.
The Stars have made three changes to their line up, bringing in local star Marlon Samuels for Jesse Ryder, Obed McKoy for Mitchell McClenaghan and Kyle Mayers in for Eddie Leie.
