PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad — Jamaica clipped Caribbean rivals Trinidad & Tobago 2-1 in Thursday’s friendly international football match here at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Reggae Boyz attacker Jamiel Hardware opened the scoring in the sixth minute, but Kevon Villaroel levelled for the Soca Warriors in the 11th minute.
Fabian Reid secured victory for Jamaica after he redirected a powerhouse free kick from Michael Binns past Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Marvin Phillip.
The hosts thought they had equalised in the first minute of stoppage time but Guyana referee Sherwin Johnson ruled that Alvin Jones had knocked the ball into the net from an off-side position.
