Chris, Kevin, Devin rock rock PAN contest
CHISTOPHER Martin, Kevin Downswell, and Devin Di Dakta led the entertainment package at last Saturday’s staging of PAN 2017 Regional 1 held at Independence Park in Black River in St Elizabeth.
Hosted by CB Foods, the event attracted thousands of guests.
On stage, comedian and broadcaster Dufton “Duffy” Shepherd was in his element as he kept patrons entertained with several on-stage activities and giveaways.
With Nico “Bam Bam” Supreme on the musical wheels of steel, patrons grooved to some of the current hits of the day.
Christopher Martin, who hasn’t performed in St Elizabeth for a while, was a hit among female fans. They didn’t resist to express how they felt about his performance. They screamed and shouted his name as he took them on a musical journey with songs including Cheaters Prayer, Big Deal, and Chill Spot.
Devin Di Dakta was also well received with songs including Daddy, Beautiful, Capture Land and Rri Bang di Beng Beng. His interaction with fans was entertaining.
Kevin Downswell, given the task to close the day’s proceedings, certainly lived up to expectations.
He took patrons to church and ministered with hits including Goodbye World, Stronger, and All the Way. The barricades separating patrons from the stage almost gave way as overzealous fans got caught up in his set.
PAN 2017 Regional 1 contest saw 30 competitors competing for gift packages from sponsors and cash prizes. The first-place winner from each parish won $40,000 cash, while the second-place winner walked away with $20,000 cash. Both first and second-place winners will advance to the Grand Finals scheduled for October 29 at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre in St Andrew.
