Cocaine worth $101m found at Kingston Container Terminal
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a joint operation with the Contraband Enforcement Team from the Jamaica Customs resulted in the seizure of almost 200 pounds of cocaine worth over $101 million at the Kingston Container Terminal yesterday.
According to detectives from the Narcotics Division, about 2:45 pm the team searched a 40-foot container and found five leather bags hidden in the shipment.
The police said the bags were searched and a total of 78 parcels containing cocaine weighing approximately 84.84 kilograms or 187 pounds were discovered.
