Let the prophets have a go at crime
Dear Editor,
We have read in the Bible where many servants and prophets of God did some good things. For example, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams for him. Moses spoke to God many times on behalf of the murmuring people of Israel. The prophet Elijah stood out for God and always wanted to be recognised as a man of God.
Jamaica’s crime rate is still standing very high, so in order for us to bring it down, this is what we need to do urgently.
We need some prophets, commissioned by God, to do a survey, or a thorough investigation on Jamaica’s biggest and most expensive funds-sucking problem — crime. These prophets should be able to tell the nation where so many illegal guns are coming from and who are handing them out to criminals. They should give us some sound instructions on how to destroy the gun trade, where the gunmen are hiding, and how to capture them.
Finally, these men of God, should be able to read the minds of the powers that be and tell the people of Jamaica if the powers that be are truly serious in their fight against crime.
The guns are barking every day in this country. By God’s help and enabling grace we should see a crime-free Jamaica in the near future.
