Gas prices up $1.86, diesel up $1.44
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Motorists should see an increase at the pumps in the price of gasoline and diesel, effective Thursday, August 31, according to the latest ex-refinery costs from Petrojam.
87- and 90-octane gasoline will be sold for $116.99 and $119.82 per litre, respectively, up by $1.86 each.
Automotive diesel fuel will be sold for $109.84 per litre following an increase of $1.44, while ultra-low sulphur diesel is up by $1.47, and will be sold for $114.83 per litre.
Meanwhile, kerosene increased in price by $2.39 and will be sold for $93.76 per litre. Propane liquid petroleum will be sold for $45.44 per litre, up by $0.50 and butane liquid petroleum will be sold for $52.31 per litre after an increase of $0.19.
Petrojam said: “The price movements reflect movement in the prices of the relevant petroleum products within the US Gulf Coast Region, which has been significantly impacted by the passage of Hurricane Harvey”.
Marketing companies and retailers will add their respective mark-up to these prices.
