Ken Boothe for MoBay Hip Strip’s ‘Sunday Sip’
Come this Sunday the Hip Strip in Montego Bay should be abuzz with excitement as vintage singer Ken Boothe brings some life to that section of the tourist capital.
The veteran singer will appear at the new Island Smokehouse in what is the inaugural staging of a weekly show called ‘Sunday Sip’, being staged by Clemsand Enterprises in collaboration with Island Smokehouse.
Boothe is expected to take fans down memory lane for what will undoubtedly be an old-school showcase.
Montego Bay DJ Mycowave will open the show.
“This will be one of the best oldies shows that Montegonians will see for the longest while,” said Clement Small, one of the promoters of the event.
“We are planning to have a monthly show for the people of the parish as there is not much on the Hip Strip, so we are here to revive it.”
Ken Boothe is popular for a number of hits including The Train is Coming, Don’t You Know, Puppet on a String and Freedom Street.
