Knoliji inspired by Ethiopia
Newcomer Knoliji Tafari draws his musical inspiration from Ethiopia. The Kingston-based singjay, who is ready to make his mark on the music scene, is a practising Rastafarian.
He made his recording debut in March with Raggamuffin in Love, which was produced by Muzic House Productions.
“I want the world to hear my music and feel the energy of Knoliji Tafari. I’m coming with something fresh and different. It’s roots and culture, it’s reggae but in a different style,” he explained.
Since the release of Raggamuffin Love, Knoliji Tafari has released Natty Most Wanted, Power of the Light and Out Deh.
“The journey has just begun and I have a lot of music to share with the people. I want them to hear and feel the message. It’s a non-stop mission… Drew Stewart is the producer and I am the messenger. We are making the music and sending it out to the world, and the people love it,” he said.
Knoliji Tafari, who is a trained videographer, is the grandson of veteran music video director Leo “Big Daddy” O’Reggio.
“I like to be involved in all areas of my music, and I’m also involved in the creative and technical aspects of all my videos and photo shoots,” he said.
