HEMPZ — The Secret is in the Seed

It’s official! The Beauty Spot, located at Little Premier Plaza, has been named the sole distributor of Hempz Body and Skin Care Line in Jamaica. Confirmation came two Wednesdays ago at a fab event hosted by personal trainer and fitness personality Kamila McDonald on the East Lawn, Devon House.

Marlene Gray, CEO of The Beauty Spot, shared with the Under the Dryer team that after careful research of Hempz, one of the Earth’s most renewable resources, which is able to produce a full harvest in 120 days without the assistance of fertilisers or pesticides, she decided to bring it to Jamaica. “The response has been,” she shared, “overwhelming.”

Regional manager for Hempz, Shawna Mejia, shared with guests the relevance of the product with so many customers in search of a healthy, green lifestyle. Hemp seed Oil is rich in Vitamins E, C, B1, B2, B3 and B6 which is ideal for maintaining healthy, younger-looking skin and hair. Hemp Seed oil contains about 25 % protein, 30 % carbohydrates, 15 % nutrients, 15 % key minerals and 15% fibre which helps prevent skin and hair from aging and promotes a radiant glow.

Global Education Director for Hempz Haircare and My Amazing line, Jason Schwind, was on spot to highlight the haircare products, which he said give healthier, stronger, and shinier hair. This was ably demonstrated on the tresses of models Gabriella Black and Diedre McKenzie. The Herbal Workable Hairspray, which is perfect for sculpting, was used in McKenzie’s hair which was styled several hours before the event and certainly stood the test of time.

The Beauty Spot’s Marketing Manager Audrey Johnson spoke passionately about the Hempz brand which she dubbed her baby, highlighting its positive uses and properties.

The Hempz line consists of moisturisers, body scrubs, shampoos, conditioners and a range other products which are made from 100 per cent Hempz Seed Oil. The products are all Paraben-free, gluten-free, 100 % vegan and THC-free (tetrahydrocannabinol).

Hemp seeds feature a high concentration of many skin-friendly vitamins, including the antioxidant Vitamin E, which encourages healthy skin-tissue growth, and Vitamin C.

An essential building block of collagen, Vitamin C encourages skin elasticity and an even tone. Hemp seed oil’s Vitamin B content, which includes Vitamin B6 among others, encourages firmer skin by providing fatty acids.

Hemp is one of the best sources of Essentail Fatty Acids (EFAs), with an abundance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Linolei Acids, which are crucial as an anti-inflammatory and lead to smoother, youthful-looking skin.

More Hemp Perks

Hemp Couture Moisturizing Shampoo features hemp seed oil and extract to provide moisture for stronger, younger-looking hair.
