ROSE HALL, St James — The sixth staging of Jamaica Bridal Expo, western Jamaica’s premier bridal showcase, kicks off tomorrow at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, St James.

The event, which runs until Sunday, will open with a wedding conference from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, featuring a cadre of top international and local speakers on wedding planning, destination weddings, and driving and growing a business.

Presenters include UK-based international wedding planner Melissa Ogbonna; United States-based Tisha Holman, event planner and designer; Angela Proffitt, event and productivity consultant; and JoAnn Gregoli, master wedding planner.

Regional speakers will include Marilyn Duncan-Wiltshire, Triniweddings; and JoAnne Brown, CEO of Celebrations, based in Grand Cayman.

Local representatives Marsha-Ann Brown, director of weddings at Sandals; and Sara Stanford, managing director, Bliss Bridal Boutique, are also included in the line-up.

The expo segment will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, respectively. The expo floor will see over 60 of Jamaica’s best wedding suppliers open for browsing and consultation at no cost for admission.

“We are looking forward to a really good show. production schedules are on time and booth spaces are sold out. The conference will be excellent; we have an exciting line-up of knowledgeable and professional speakers who are at the top of their craft, both locally and internationally,” explained Peter Shoucair, managing director, Event and Entertainment Services, producers of the event.

“The Jamaica Tourist Board will be hosting a seminar on Saturday, and we are expecting several travel agents and international delegates from JAPEX to visit the expo. As our event closes on Sunday, Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) opens on the same day at the Montego Bay Convention Centre,” Shoucair added.

The event will also feature fashion shows from Bliss Bridal Boutique and Montego Bay-based outfit Earl’s Fashions and Tailoring, while several musicians will perform live in concert over an expected full house over the three days.
