KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three Jamaican men caught by Cayman marine police earlier this month, have been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Law with importation and possession of a controlled drug.
According to Cayman reports, the Jamaicans were held on September 14, after a joint marine unit on patrol off the eastern side of Grand Cayman, came upon the canoe from Jamaica.
The report added that packages containing a large quantity of ganja were thrown overboard when the canoe was intercepted and a number of caged roosters were found.
Police said the men, aged 31, 37 and 53, have also been charged with illegal entry under the Immigration Law.
